Equine-Friendly

As many of you have noticed, equestrian style is in. Being an equestrian myself, I find this a little entertaining and also very convenient. While I would never wear my show clothes in public, or even my barn clothes (peeyeww), I do have all the essentials to make a fabulous outfit!

My fellow equestrian business partner and I came up with an idea to launch our own apparel line, based on equestrian style. We would love any input on what you would like that you've seen us riders wear! To help you get an idea for comparison purposes here are some pics of real versus fashionable equine styles:

RED

Alright ladies, it's been a while since the red lip trend has been in style, so you'd think it's about time that people GET IT RIGHT!
Phew, sorry to vent but seeing girls with beautiful porcelain skin and a bright red lip with orange tints in it just makes my skin crawl. If you're one of the criminals it's not too late for you, here's a guide from Glamour magazine that helps to illustrate the right hues to go with your skin tone, and why they work.

"Fair Skin

Coral-y reds look most beautiful on you; they add a shot of color but aren’t overpowering.
2. Nice color and SPF YSL Rouge Volupté in No. 16, $34.
3. Looks velvety smooth Maybelline New York Color Sensational Lipstick in Are You Red-dy, $7.50.

Medium Skin
Anything from true red to pinky-cranberry shades will work well with your golden undertones.

3. Old Hollywood glam Chanel Rouge Allure in Audace, $30.

Dark Skin
Stick with deep, rich colors like burgundy or warm brick—superbright ones can seem too harsh.
3. Gold-flecked Elizabeth Arden Color Intrigue Effects Lipstick in Ruby Pearl, $20 "

Again, these tips are from Glamour.com and you can check out the entire post about getting your perfect shade here

comfy cozy

Most people think of December when they think of winter, but up here in the midwest, January is the coldest month of all. It's pretty hard to stay fashionable and motivated while you're bundling up in a -25 degree windchill. I've used these images for motivation to stay comfy and cozy this winter, while still looking great!

You don't need a jam-packed closet to come up with great outfits. Take a look at these outfits I put together (with the help of my beautiful sister, Shelly as a model!). They're all using the same dress from Forever 21.

 The Casual Outing
A denim jacket, infinity scarf and Keds

Business Appropriate
Colorful blazer, classic jewelry and nude pumps

A Holiday Classic
Maroon tights, flashy jewelry and black patent pumps

Preppy and Pretty
A fitted cardigan and floral wedges

Ladies' Night Out
Black leather jacket and strappy heels

You can do these with almost any dress, but it really pays off to have a basic little black (or grey) dress!

Tell me about yourself

I'll be graduating college in two months! While this is exciting, I'm in desperate need of preparation for the "real-world", most specifically interviewing and job hunting. Interviewing can scare the living daylights out of me, especially that dreaded question "why don't you tell us about yourself" or "who is Tammy?" My theory as of lately is if you look the part you'll feel the part, which means... shopping!

I'm so sick of the all black look, so I'm trying to get inspiration for professional attire including some statement pieces or simply just incorporating more color. What do you guys think of these ideas that I found?

Beauty Must Haves

1. Neutrogena Deep Clean Long Last Shine Control; use this as a daily cleanser or leave it on longer as a facial mask. Makes your skin feel tingly clean and gives a matte finish look to your skin for 8 hours.
2. Maybelline Great Lash BIG; for the thickest lashes at a very reasonable price!
3. MaryKay Mineral Bronzing Powder; I use this every day as a blush for the perfect summer touch.
4. Jergens Natural Glow Firming Daily Moisturizer; I love that this lotion gradually builds a tan, so you can avoid those pesky self-tanner streaks. I like to use a base lotion as well, as this product is more for color than hydration.
5. Maybelline Unstoppable Eyeliner; smudge proof, stay-put eyeliner that can be a daily liner, or build it up for more of a dramatic look.
6. Clinique Moisture Surge Intense Skin Fortifying Hydrator; I have never felt softer skin than after using this moisturizer.
7. CoverGirl Outlast Lipstain; my favorite long lasting lip color that builds up for a more dramatic look.
8. Avon Ideal Flawless Powder; provides the perfect overall finish.
9. MaryKay Concealer; great for the daily touch ups.
10. Clearasil Rapid Action Vanishing Treatment Cream; we all have those pimples that pop-up out of nowhere and can ruin your whole day, dab on a bit of this cream for the best and quickest relief.
11. Estee Lauder Lash Primer Plus; this makes your lashes so much longer! Just apply a coat before your normal mascara every morning, lasts all day.

Love the green and shoulder caps on this jacket, especially paired with a camel-toned bag

This is a more spring look, but could still work for the fall, just add a scarf or boots

fall fashions... already?!

I really hate to do this, but since it is August I think I can start to post about my favorite clothing item... jackets! I love summer and I'm so desperately sad to see it go so quickly, but I do love a great jacket.

A good hood can warm up any chilly fall day

Every girl needs a leather jacket in her closet

Faux fur is the way to go

Gorgeous embellishments add a feminine touch to leather

Tweed is always classy, especially paired with a tall boot

what's on my wish list

Searching through wanelo I found my new must have items

I'm in love with the collared shirts trend. These make awesome work shirts and are still super stylish to leave the office feeling like you can go out without changing tops.

Of course, still obsessed with mint... so these mint button earrings are a must.

To stick with the simplicity theme, a nice clean bag would be lovely.

Just because your phone doesn't wear itself on the outside like your clothes do, doesn't mean it can't be trendy as well.
