current obsession: minty fresh

time to tidy

I'm baaaaacccckkkkk!!
Major apologies for not posting for a week... life kind of got in the way, but I'm sure you all know how that goes!

In the spirit of the amazing weather we have been having in the midwest, spring cleaning is in the air. Here are some images I've collected from a while back to help inspire some organizational skills and appealing designs. Hope they help you too!

Aluminum cans help to organize miscellaneous items

All these storage spots... what a dream!

Use modular storage cubes to house ink and markers. Works if you have an open space for storing items with easy access

Short on room? Just dedicate a corner to creativity

This one's just for fun, an entertainment center turned into a wardrobe! Love it

bun lovin'

Hey guys, sorry for the lack of posts lately! I'm on spring break now which you would think would be great for having the time to post more... wrong... I'm picking up a bunch of work hours at two different jobs so again, I apologize! Here are some buns I'm lovin' though to tide ya over with.

flip your hair over and braid a messy french braid into a bun

check out the DIY tutorial here

another take on a braid into a bun

For some odd reason I'm always uncomfortable wearing my hair up and showing the back of my neck... no idea why. If you're like me try a cute scarf and go for the relaxed messy feel, which can surprisingly still be kept super cute!

heavenly lighting

Here's a small DIY tutorial that I found on another blog site* for a super simple and pretty cloud lighting idea. Essentially this idea was for weddings, but I could definitely see it used anywhere else!

Materials:
Cotton batting, Paper lanterns, Flameless Candles, Hot glue gun

Instructions:
1. Pull at the cotton batting until it looks fluffy, light and cloud-like
2. Hot glue it to the outside of the paper lantern in various places
3. Light (turn on) the candles and stick them inside
4. Hang the lantern wherever you'd like

some crafty inspiration

I know I've been posting a lot about home decor when my main objective was to post about organizational purposes, but lately I just haven't been as inspired for organizing as I have been for decorating. That is until I stumbled upon these lovely images all collected from apartment therapy here. This got me thinking for new, creative approaches to organizing (specifically a craft space, but let's face it, after all those diy posts I've been feeling 'oh so crafty!').

Short on room? Use a functional bookcase to neatly store away materials. Displays your items for easy access and appealing to look at!

Love the idea of hanging matching colored fabrics over open shelving, hiding away things that may not be living up to our regular organizational qualities...

Talk about everything having its own place

I've heard so many good things about using a pegboard to help organize items, I definitely must try something like this

Subtle color accents tie everything together (& another pegboard!)

Love the color theme from this room and the alternating storage boxes

Hope these inspired you to rev up your crafty organizational skills while adding a little color and life into a boring routine. Again, all of these images were collected from apartment therapy here, so visit the link to find the original sources and beautiful creators of these spaces!
